The 2026 Edition is finally here!VaultI've spent a considerable amount of time thinking, planning, and preparing for 2026. In doing so, I often came back to the same realization: "The market is shifting, technology is accelerating, and real-time data is becoming increasingly more valuable". So, I decided to do something about it. Over the past month, I've spent several dozen hours enhancing my all-in-one resource for keeping up with the rapidly shifting market. Today, I'd like to share it with you. Introducing, The CRE Research Vault: 2026 Edition. Disclaimer: The Vault is only $39, so I will not be retiring even if every single person reading this buys it. But, we value what we pay for, so I priced it at a *very* small fraction of what it cost me in time and energy to build it. Point being, I hope you find it immensely valuable for the price. Okay, now that we're past the "Why is Trey trying to sell me something?" moment, let's walk through The Vault layout together. This way, you can make an informed purchase decision (no pressure either way). Below is a preview of the first section, "01: APPROACH". This section is all about setting you up for success in 2026. It includes 40+ question prompts for goal setting, vision casting, and a personal success vision statement template. The next section, "02: ACTION", is my personal favorite. Here's what's included:
240+ links to help keep you a few steps ahead of the competition. The next section, "03: ATTACK", is all about building intentionality. Included is my Daily Method of Operation process, habit tracking calendar template, a powerful reminder about achievement, and a private presentation that I shared in 2024 to a group of Real Estate professionals titled "Mindset, Method & Mastery". You'll enjoy this section if you enjoy staying organized. The final section, "04: APPLICATION", features bonus materials, including:
The CRE Research Vault solves the one problem that we all have: Providing instant access to a carefully curated library of real-time market intelligence. A key differentiator in 2026? Speed to accessing real-time insights. I hope your decision is a clear and easy one.
RoadmapWell, 2026 is finally here. By now, you've spent time thinking about the year ahead and how to make the most of it. Below I'll share a glimpse into my internal thoughts entering into 2026. It's not perfect, and I'm sure it will evolve, but I hope you find it insightful. Next week we'll jump back into Multifamily specific insights including my 2026 Predictions. ReflectionIf you've been reading the past few weeks, then you know I enjoy reflecting on the prior year. Here are a few of my additional observations and reflections: 1/ Consistency over Intensity In 2025, I burned out mid-year, and the result was that I took 4 straight months off from creating LinkedIn content. This was my own doing, as I posted daily for 200+ days straight without the proper guardrails to keep the momentum going when life got busy (which it did). I should have adjusted the goal (from daily to 3x per week), rather than stop posting entirely. Lesson: Avoiding downside matters more than maximizing upside. 2/ "Health is Wealth" This one is obvsious, but it's something I'll be thinking about this year. My family is growing, and sleepless nights are (most likely) on the horizon. So, I decided to invest in a garage gym to make the barrier as low as possible for maintaining (and hopefully improving) my physical fitness. People with quality health have many dreams, but those that don't have one dream. Lesson: 1 is greater than 0. Something > nothing. 3/ Trust is Earned I am fortunate to work for a small company where I get to wear several hats. When I started working here nearly three years ago, I expected to underwrite deals and be on the road touring properties. Instead, I've been asset managing our portfolio of 1,500+ units for the past 18 months and playing an integral role in various capital formation efforts. Over time, I have earned the trust of my boss and peers, which is integral for future growth. Lesson: How we do anything is how we do everything. VisionThen, as I began to think about 2026, I had a few ideas for how I plan to achieve my vision for the year. 1/ Inputs = Outputs My four months off from publishing publicly (excluding The Multifamily Download) was a learning experience. As you might expect, my LinkedIn impressions, follower growth, and newsletter subscriber growth all flatlined. And yet, it didn't have to be "all or nothing", as I could have posted less frequently while remembering I'm playing the long game with my content and personal brand. Lesson: What we put into something is often what we get out. 2/ Modeling Success Leads to Success As part of the personal & professional growth that I'm aiming to achieve in 2026, I have been focusing on a few ways that I plan to grow my "personal brand" in 2026, including:
While I may pursue some or all of these, I have clarity around my central theme for 2026: Growth. Lesson: Find people doing what you want to do and replicate their actions. 3/ Create a Flywheel I think we all know this to be true, and we've seen it play out, but attention truly is the modern currency. A strong online presence creates more "shots on goal", which then produces more opportunities for doing Real Estate deals or online collaborations. For example, I've spoken to 10+ people over the past few weeks that I otherwise would not have met just by sharing my Calendly link in this newsletter. Lesson: Putting yourself out there in 2026 is a success strategy. SummaryTo close, here's what you can expect from me in 2026. 1/ Continued focus on The Multifamily Download. This newsletter is what I spend way too much time thinking about and working on each week. (Just ask my wife!) Delivering for each of you will continue to be one of my top priorities. 2/ More 1-on-1 interactions. In addition to sharing my Calendly link to schedule introductory calls, I plan to spend a lot more time in my LinkedIn DMs reaching out and responding to people that I'd like to support, learn from, or collaborate with in the future. I'm bullish on personal interactions and will be focusing on these in 2026. 3/ Adding my 2 cents on LinkedIn. 2025 was the year of spam A.I. comments, and I naturally backed away, but I plan to lean into commenting more on LinkedIn posts in 2026. Interesting conversations can take place here (and move offline), so this is a worthwhile investment of 20-30 minutes per day. 4/ IRL, or In Real Life events. I'll be attending NMHC later this month in January (let me know if you'll be there!) and I will be guest speaking at a Southern California event in April. As the Multifamily market begins to rebound, I'm excited to get out of the office more in 2026. What's your master plan for 2026? How can I help support your efforts? Hit reply and let me know. P.S.
